FormPlane Help

The AI agent that flies through web forms.

FormPlane helps you complete web forms with an AI browser agent. It can inspect the current page, work through multi-page forms, choose among common controls, and pause when a page needs your attention. You stay in control of the browser and should review answers before submitting anything important.

Get started

  1. Open the form you want FormPlane to work on.
  2. Open FormPlane from Chrome's side panel.
  3. Describe the task and provide the answers it is allowed to use. Be specific about what it should skip if it cannot find an answer.
  4. Start the run and watch its progress in the side panel. You can stop the run at any time.
  5. Review the completed fields and submit the form yourself when you are satisfied.

FormPlane can interact with text fields, text areas, native and custom dropdowns, radio buttons, checkboxes, switches, sliders, date fields, multi-select controls, and many grid or rating questions. Websites vary, so a control may need a different approach or may not be supported.

Choose how AI is powered

Bring your own key (BYOK)

BYOK is free and has no FormPlane usage limit. In Settings → Models, configure a supported provider with your own API key, or choose a local model such as Ollama. Your provider may charge you according to its own pricing. For Ollama, the Ollama service must be running locally and the selected model must already be available there.

FormPlane hosted inference

Hosted inference uses FormPlane's service, so you do not need to configure a model-provider key. Enter your FormPlane license key in Settings → Plans, select Use hosted inference, and activate it. Pro plans include 25 hosted form completions per calendar month. A completion is one full agent run on one form; unused runs do not roll over. Each hosted run is limited to 60 agent steps. BYOK remains available if you reach the limit or hosted service is unavailable.

The Free plan uses BYOK. Pro Monthly and Pro Annual include hosted inference while the subscription is active. Launch Lifetime does not expire and still has the monthly hosted-use cap. Current prices and purchase options are shown on the Plans section.

Tips for better results

  • Give the agent the exact answer for each question and say "skip" when it has no answer.
  • Keep instructions clear and separate from text copied from the webpage.
  • For a long or branching form, ask it to complete the current form page and continue until the end.
  • Check each page before continuing, especially when an answer is ambiguous or the form contains grids, sliders, or custom controls.
  • Use a fresh page inspection after the form changes. Element positions and labels can change after each answer or page transition.
  • If the page is blank or unresponsive, reload it yourself and start a new run.

Safety and control

FormPlane can make mistakes. Review its answers, particularly for personal, financial, medical, legal, employment, or other consequential information. Do not ask it to invent answers. Stop the run if it encounters a CAPTCHA, login challenge, payment step, or other security check that requires your judgment; handle that step yourself. FormPlane does not guarantee that a website will accept an automated interaction.

Privacy and API keys

With BYOK, model requests go to the provider configured in your settings; with a local model, inference is handled by that local service. With hosted inference, the information needed to understand and complete the current form is sent to FormPlane's hosted service and its model provider. Avoid using hosted inference on pages containing information you do not want sent to those services.

Treat API keys and license keys as secrets. Configure keys only in FormPlane's settings, and remove or rotate a key if you believe it has been exposed. Provider data handling and charges are governed by that provider's own policies and terms.

Troubleshooting

The agent says it cannot connect to the page

Make sure the form tab is open and active, then close DevTools for that tab and try again. Reload the form if needed. Some restricted browser pages and embedded frames cannot be controlled by extensions.

A dropdown or choice was not selected

Custom controls differ across websites. Ask FormPlane to inspect the current page again, identify the visible option labels, and select the exact label. If it still fails, make that selection yourself and ask FormPlane to continue.

My license key is not accepted

Check that the full key, including each group, was copied correctly. Confirm that the browser is online and retry activation. License validation can fall back to BYOK if the service cannot be reached; this does not disable the free mode. If the key remains unrecognized, contact FormPlane support with the plan and purchase email, but do not send your API key.

I reached the hosted limit

Hosted completions reset on the first day of each month in UTC. You can switch to BYOK and continue using your own provider or local model without a FormPlane hosted-use cap.

The model gives an error

For BYOK, check that the selected model is available to your provider, the API key is valid, and the provider endpoint is reachable. For Ollama, make sure Ollama is running and the model name matches an installed model. For hosted inference, retry later or switch to BYOK while the service is unavailable.
